Pacific Forest Products has been trading logs and lumber into the Asia Pacific markets since 2002.

Growth has been rapid, and PFP are now the largest exporter of logs from Australasia into the Asia Pacific Region.

The PFP Group is an employee owned company and has a small and highly experienced team of 23 staff, with established offices in Auckland, Tauranga and Gisborne in New Zealand, along with Portland in Australia.

Scale has grown rapidly from an export volume of around 300,000 m3 per annum in 2002-04 to a current average of 5 million m3 per year.

Since 2003 the company has been running its own ship chartering program, and charters around 170 vessels per annum through a mix of Time and Voyage charter.

Export operations are mostly concentrated in the North Island in New Zealand and we operate continuously from the ports of Marsden Point, Tauranga and Gisborne. We also export regularly out of Port Chalmers in the South Island and periodically from Picton, Napier, Nelson and Dunedin. In Australia we export regularly from the ports of Burnie in Tasmania and Portland in Victoria. The Group also manages log export operations and marketing of plantation eucalyptus logs from the Big Island in Hawaii to the Asian market.
